vesa is a pc though.

ps2 era is limited to 16 bit color display as far as i remember, and anything above 8 bit palettized sprites lags its cpu a lot, that's why nobody ever used it (and in fact, they used 4 bit, 16 color sprites a whole lot) and they always did everything in 256 colors or less.

the top gradient is over 350 colors.

>> No.10520343

>>10520327
It's easy to pick colours that contrast, though. Just desaturate the shit out of the background and then have either light on dark or dark on light. Change your X colours or whatever to match.

It's not like textured backgrounds aren't common, for example. They were all over the 90s web (and still exist here and there, e.g. 2ch). Plus most of the default wallpapers in Windows are/were things like repeating clouds or swirls or whatever, and you could read the icon text fine (granted you could set it so the text had a background or a shadow, but even without it was often readable).

I'd be fine with Linux if X at least provided a good set of default bitmap fonts.

I think X.Org got the rights to some crappy public domain versions of Times, Helvetica, and Courier, and had to render them shittily because Microsoft and Apple have all the good patents. They could have at least fixed them up by hand or something.

Pic related. The Windows versions look way nicer.

What is this I don't even. PS2 can do 1080i@32bpp, see GT5 for example.

>Pixel configuration: RGB: Alpha:Z Buffer (24:8, 15:1 for RGB, 16, 24, or 32-bit Z buffer)

Played Cherry Moderate,
It's a game where you compete with a rival guy in seducing and fucking as many heroine as possible.

Man, the rival character pisses me off, especially when he succeeds in fucking a heroine and he rubs it in your face. I'm especially pissed when I messed up and he managed to fuck the childhood friend and the twin imoutos. But at least I managed to fuck and deflower his ex that he's still in love with.

Why is there no walkthrough for this game? This is what I hate about pc98 games, you can't find walkthroughs for them.

Playing Rondo, for some reason the game outputs periods while waiting for the player to move the text on, as AGTH fills up with them. Luckily the language is pretty easy, but it makes me think about the crazy shit Japanese people do when programming. There is some particularly crazy shit in a lot of GBA games, so I guess bad coding is a tradition in Japan.

Game is called 46 Okuken Monogatari: The Sinkaron (4.6 Billion years story: The Theory of Evolution)

You can just call it E.V.O.-98 (E.V.O. Search For Eden)

It's extremely depressing at times compared to its' SNES counterpart and a bit more fucked up. But has over 40 bad ends (What happens if you evolve incorrectly; For example, if you take too much power from a meteorite in the 3rd Era, you devolve into an amoebic creature)

If you want to evolve the "right way" just max out your intellect before reaching the end of the era.

After raising intellect to a certain extent, you don't have to fight most enemies as they disappear from the world map entirely, but you will still gain Evolution points by surviving natural disasters (Storms, Earthquakes, etc)
