Well, nice to have you anyway. From one of your previous posts I take that you HAVE a sword of your own, correct? Gah... I'm jealous, I want to get a REAL sword one day too. (Obviously it will be mostly decoration of my room but... dammit, it's a SWORD!) Do you maybe have some photos of it if it's some kind of shiny piece of weaponry?

What do you call it when the weapon is drawn with absolute attention to detail? Like scenery porn but with an item. Youmu gets a lot of it, but I don't know what to call it.

I've made a number of wooden swords in the past year. This is in order of making, from bottom to top. Top is gonna be standard-version Roukanken and Hakurouken, since I've already done the Koumajou Densetsu versions towards the bottom.

I don't have any real metal swords though.

Thanks! Yep, bottom one is Tenshi's. I kinda had to make up some of the design since the real one is rather... fluid, but I think it's a good representation.

I've thought about making Miko's sword, but there's a lot of other stuff I'd rather do before I get to her, so I'm not sure it's gonna happen.
May end up doing Koumajou Densetsu Flandre at some point in the near future though, her sword is pretty crazy looking though still fairly simple.

Blade's curve needs to be as close to a circle arc as you can get away with. The shorter one I just bent a ruler at the ends, but that method didn't work for the longer so I just calculated about every two inches. Jigsaw to cut the curves, then simply glue the top and bottom and sides of the scabbard together.
