Do people actually find King of the Hill entertaining in any form or way?

Some /jp/ Anon recommended True Blood and I like it. It's just like cartoons or VNs. Stupid supernatural shit with tacked-on romance and ecchi/sex scenes. You can just turn off your brain and enjoy it.

Is the American version good?

I watched the British version when I was younger. It was fairly disappointing because people like Stephen Fry and Chris Langham are funny writers, but not so good at improvisation.

I don't find it funny but I'm clearly not its target audience. I'm a foreigner so a lot of the stereotypes and situations don't make sense to me. Sort of like Family Guy but with people and scenarios instead of name-dropping and referencing.

We're not good at stand-up (yes I know there are exceptions). We have some hilarious sitcoms and sketch shows, but I think Americans have always been better at improvisational stuff.

I want to see a panel show like Mock the Week or Never Mind the Buzzcocks without scripting. That would be funny to watch for all the wrong reasons.

I like It's Always Sunny, because I like it when a show has the balls to make all of it's characters unlikeable on purpose.

Arrested Development does this to a lesser extent and that's one of the reasons I like it so much too.

Chappelle show's humour wasn't really that bright to begin with. It appealed to everyone by itself without need to change it's formula. That's one of the reasons that pissed off Dave Chappelle. His show got popular for the catch-phrases and such but most people didn't see beyond that. His downward spiral started exactly because of that. He went to perform in a stand-up show but people couldn't stop yelling "charlie murphy!" and "I'm rick james, bitch!" and he threw a tantrum about how he protected the show's integrity because he believed his viewers deserved it and that they were smarter than what most producers think, but it turned out those producers were right about his audience after all. Then he left the stage, refused a million-dollar deal and went to africa to do african things.

This happened to me with House. They just couldn't let the show end. It would've ended perfectly in that one season where it ends with house checking in an insane asylum. And even so, by then the show was already overstaying it's welcome.
