Friendly reminder to enjoy things while they last and take it easy while you still can.
Things might not be perfect, but hey, don't forget what the alternatives are.

A little short of my 4 year neet anniversary, I find myself depressed, out of money and out of other options. I'll be forced to do something about it and I'm too scared to kill myself. I'll probably get a shit job or move back home and go to school.

In order to not go down the same road once things get rough, which I don't doubt they will, I'll have to give up escapism and subsequently visiting here and talking to you guys. The later part hurts the most.

So /jp/... will you have one last drink with me? Can we part with a smile?

i have been applying to jobs and going on interviews most every week for 3 years now, OP. and they all tell me that i do not have enough experience and thus they won't hire me.

you want to go get a shit job after 4 years? good fucking luck.

You can still chill out with us. Don't let the world make you fall apart from /jp/.

Do you have to leave? /jp/ isn't like a curse or a demon, it's just a message board.

Good luck anyways.

Seriously. Stop drinking and sell your computer and then we'll talk. I deal with people everyday who have been fucked from birth and have nothing, but are still trying to do the best for themselves and their families. OP is a brat. Almost certainly white too.

>> No.10325649

After NEETing it up for 6 years I'm being forced to apply to a job. It is really tough to expose myself to that pressure, but I don't plan on leaving /jp/. On the contrary, probably it would be one of the few things that'll really help me to get it together while bearing the burden of the real world on my shoulders.

People like that are in a better position than a NEET like op is.

It's funny how you chastise people for being out of touch without realizing how it can be an actual problem and far more positions than being born with nothing is.

There's nothing "fine" about their condition. Most of them are in and out or prison, suffering extreme depression, have no money, and can't get work even if they want to. To see the OP sitting in front of his computer, drinking whiskey and complaining that he'll have to start working and won't be able to talk to his internet friends about sucking cocks all day is just a little bit insulting to people who aren't privileged fucks and have real problems.

Well, setting aside the option of suicide that OP is too scared to accomplish, his post presents the idea that leaving NEET life requires leaving escapism and thus /jp/ itself in order to be successful. This reasoning is flawed beyond belief. This is not a black or white choice.

For many people, escapism is the only way they can actually tolerate career life, and reading /jp/ is part of that escapism for a select few. It's not like going to school or work will suddenly cause him to lose interest in the topics discussed here on a regular basis.

The people you talk about would be happy if they could lead a normal life. OP is probably healthy (at least physically) and dreads work and social interaction (I assume). He's likely not to not be happy even if he manages to lead a "normal" life.
At least physical problems can be challenged, but there's little you can do if you can't cope with your own existence.
