I really do feel this way about Jews. I watch a lot of old shows, and the moment the opening credits mention a "Bernstein" or "Goldberg", I stop watching. More recently there has been a trend to include fewer/no opening credits, and I think this might be why.

Their civilization died the moment Christianity took over europe. The current one is the product of Renaissance (14-17th century) culture. The Holy Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, and the Russian empire all emulated Rome as best they could and were highly developed and advanced states far earlier than 500 years ago. The "dark ages" is a fallacy, there was no loss of scientific knowledge and the claim that christianity somehow slowed the advancement of science is laughable.

As for your other claims, you're right that those civilizations tried to emulate Roman empire, but they are but an emulation. They did not do anything beyond emulating the structure. There was no growth, no output and no influence to anyone other than the few peasants living under their rules. Face facts bro. Europe after the fall of roman empire was a stale and decaying civilization. It was in no way "alive" in proper civilization terms.
