Thinking about Mokou and Keine makes me so sad.

Mokou won't even talk to the people she rescues in the bamboo forest. She must be afraid of getting close to anyone, because she wouldn't want to lose them like she's lost everyone else.

But even though she's tried to isolate herself, she'd still become very close to Keine. Losing Keine might be too much for her.

I'd really like to see a doujin about Mokou fighting Komachi and Yama for Keine's soul. Sort of like Orpheus traveling to the underworld to get his wife back. But instead of singing Mokou would be kicking ass.

What pisses me more about this is that japanese secondaries are so enamored with their seme Mokou shit that they consistently draw Mokou as higher than Keine. There's no fucking way! Mokou was frozen in immortality as a japanese teen from 1000 years ago. By all reasons, she should be smaller than Keine, and probably a bit smaller than even Kaguya.

Regarding OP, Mokou had it coming. She was the one that initiated the aggression to Kaguya. That Kaguya to this day indulges on teasing Mokou instead of simply ignoring her is actually sweet.

Finally, read CiLR. Mokou freaks out when she thinks the lunar veil ascending (actually Reisen 2 returning home) meant Kaguya was returning to the Moon. Mokou needs Kaguya and both are fated to become best friends, even if it's because in about one million of years they'll still be around and everybody else in the setting won't.

There's some theories around that Mokou wasn't even a legitimate daugher, based mostly on the CiLR that show her "alive" in rather peasant clothing and most damning, a short hair that would be completely absurd to a noble. Particularly I think this is bullshit, being simply a case of "ZUN likes short hair, deal with it", but I confess that having Mokou desperate to prove herself to daddy would help to explain her idiotic actions back then.

I think the person you're speaking to is coming from a perspective of the legitimacy of royalty. What does it mean to be "royal"? To come from a particular bloodline? Alright, then what makes that bloodline "royal"? Inevitably, the answer is "because they say so, and they have enough wealth, prestige, and goons that'll beat the shit out of you to back it up." Therefore, if all one can offer is "because they say so," that isn't really good enough

Since nobody on earth outside of eientei knew about Kaguya before IN except for Mokou, all the "assassins" were probably just residents of eientei battling Mokou for Kaguya's amusement. Mokou acted annoyed in the extra stage at first, but she also seemed to be happy that she was getting to fight tougher opponents. In CiLR she gets lonely thinking about Kaguya possibly leaving for the moon, so it is doubtful that she hates Kaguya as much as she pretends to. Also events from Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth have been discussed and referenced in a few other official works now, so we can no longer ignore it as a resource.

Kaguya's great. On the contrary, she doesn't have so many of the pretenses that you humans have. Things like, for example, the pretense that you exist to have some beneficial role in others' lives, when nobody really believes that and everyone is actually just doing things because they expect things in return.

But, only a human would have such pretenses in the first place. So Mokou also doesn't have them. Both Mokou and Kaguya are great, wonderful people. I'm sure they both have lots of fun brutally killing each other every day, pissing each other off, etc. I wish I could live a life like that.
