I've been to a hypnotist show with my friends and some things are definitely possible, but I wonder about others.

He did an audience demonstration thing where everyone closed their eyes and we placed both our arms in front of us and stayed quiet. He told us to imagine a weight in one hand and a balloon tied to the other and weirdly enough, it totally felt real and I could feel my hands moving.

The key there is that you had to be totally willing to be hypnotized to begin with, though. Any sort of resistance during the initial phase where you get really relaxed ruined the entire thing. A friend of mine managed to get called up and his quirk was something pretty mundane, but others managed some crazy things.

It's totally possible that it could be real (it's very in line with what the people I saw who were pretty much definitely not faking it could be coerced to do), but from what I saw getting the subjects prepped for anything significant required a TON of time and quiet and focus, and the guy seemed to be doing it rather speedily. Maybe it was just editing magic to cut down on time, though.

tl;dr If he prepared the subjects properly it could be real but it looked like he halfassed it instead so I don't know what to think

Since it's so huge, basically there's no reason to assume that the other girls / whole group / management is corrupt. When in a group of 5-15 idols one commits something, you kind of start assuming the management is lenient, the other girls might do it too or at least know about it, etc. etc. and that kills the attraction.

In AKB, let's say my oshi is Matsui Rena. I have no reason whatsoever to think less of her or feel that's she's connected to the scandalous girls - I suppose the most connection she'd have would be being in a few of the same songs/PVs as Masuda & Yonezawa.

Since there's so many girls and they're often in different agencies, unless your oshi is a close friend of someone in a scandal you don't really feel affected. It's just some girl that went, means nothing for you.

That's true. It's interesting how they didn't go for an immediate kick and keep her for Kouhaku though, it gives you the feeling they really wanted her to stay, which is odd considering how little they've used her vocal talent.

I feel the need to point out that there's a good reason behind the SKE video being the way it is.

The girls in the beginning talk about various things, such as the distance and time between people, and how people communicate nowadays. They also mention how time is different for everyone. It moves quickly when you're having fun and slowly when you're miserable.

Then Jurina gets dumped by her boyfriend through a text message. The other two girls get dumped too, and for all of them time moves extremely slowly while they're miserable. That's why they're crying for ages in the PV.

I liked it because it makes me aware of that difference in time. It definitely does feel slower the more unhappy I am, and faster the more I'm engaged in something. So I don't really have a problem with it. I guess it's not that interesting to look at but there is a meaning to it.
