Hi /jp/ don't come here often but I have a question for you guys and where else could I go?
>When I hear touhou music I cry like a baby.
>Has this ever happened to you?

It doesn't happends with other music, just with touhou originals or remixes. Also I think they are tears of joy or something like that, after I cry for a long time feel really happy and full of energy.
The last time I remember crying was with my father death and his anniversary but this seems a more "normal reason".

I tear up if I hum sad tunes to myself. It doesn't happen with hearing music though.

However, hearing my favorite music does make me feel really badass. I like to imagine myself fighting off thirty bullies at once with ancient forbidden techniques, and I get all excited and get goosebumps.

I nearly got teary eyed when I finished Inaba.

It felt like I was being invited into someone elses' life, with their daily lives and crazy occurances.

And then it ended.

I tear up at some themes. But that's a story for another d/a/y.

I couldn't get into Inaba too much myself because the fact it wasn't written by ZUN weighted too heavily on my mind.

I think it was quality assured by ZUN, or at least partially written by him.

I consider it semi-canon myself, as silly as it is.

There is nothing else out there that shows daily life in Eientei, and Eientei is my favourite faction, so I take what I can get!

I play Reimu.

What is wrong with Eientei, Anon? I think they have a very special charm to them.

Wow thats trippy!
Actually I get to cry with action themes like Remilia's or 4th stage (Marisa or Reimu) on th8

Green eyed jalousy is great song!

I don't think this is wrong. Music has been used historically to entice emotions, and ZUN is a good composer.

Themes that usually get me all emotional:
- Bhava-agra As Seen Through a Child's Mind (I don't even like Tenshi that much)
- Border of Life
- Emotional Skyscraper
- Faint Dream - Inanimate Dream
- Romantic Children (not a theme)
- Plain Asia
- Suwa Foughten Field (wait, put basically the entire MoF soundtrack here. Fucking melancholic game, for some reason)

Of course, there's also songs that provoke the opposite reaction. I can't avoid smiling like an idiot when listening to Mamizou or Suwako's theme, for example.

Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth is a cute little series written back in ~2006.

It's all about daily life in Eientei and I think it does a good job at characterizing Eientei, even if it is a bit of a silly series.

I felt the same thing about Eientei. It also made me a lot sadder once you consider why Kanako, Suwako and Sanae moved to gensokyo. Though tomorrow is feast, yesterday was not captures this feeling a lot better than Kanako's theme. With that said, Either 1st stage's theme or gensokyo the gods loved capture this feeling the best.

Eientei's themes have a kind of "cosmic" feel to them that keeps me from feeling the nostalgia I get from MoF's stage and boss themes (with the huge and obvious exception of Kagome Kagome, which for me is the theme of the earth inabas stuck in Eientei). Udonge, Kaguya and Eirin have beautiful themes, but they somehow keep their distance from you. It's kind of hard to explain.

By its turn, MoF is a huge nostalgia trip. They're the spirits of old japan, that were banished from the outside and had to go there to survive.

I find myself really close to Eientei's themes, though I also really enjoy the themes of EoSD's characters and what-not. Particularly Remilia's.

There's this one remix with bells in it and it just really gives me a good feeling.

Border of Life does it for me. I don't think it's the song by itself only, though.
Yuyu's such a tragic character, in a bit of a fairytale fashion. Everything about her story is so simple, yet you can't stop asking yourself "why?".

>> No.10143695

>>10143674
Remilia is probably my favorite character and while I love her theme, I don't feel any strong emotions when hearing it.

On the other side, I tend to think Tenshi a bit grating, but her last spell theme gets me all the time.

Occasionally, I haven't in awhile though.
