Japan's official RO server pulled some wacky shit after Renewal. I have no idea why, but GungHo and Gravity decided that they'd change a lot of stuff JUST on the Japanese servers, according to some things the japanese community had been asking for. Similar to how iRO has a couple things that works differently from most other official servers since they're not bound to Gravity's will by contract, but with MORE changes, including how some statuses work.

So basically, if you want to play on the japanese official server you better know how to read moon pretty well, because you're going to have to adapt to a bunch of stuff.

Some of the designs are certainly a little hard to get used to, but the same can be said for some of the trans classes. New Rune Knight sprite is great for example. Edgy Assassin Cross will always beat Guillotine Cross as much as I like Loki's design.

I'll agree about the Guillotine Cross and Warlock, but not about the rest. Any set of classes had ugly and incredible ones, despising the 3rd ones alone is hating it just because it's new.

And it's far from being a "completely different" game. They changed a lot of formulas and added new classes, that's basically everything that changed. You'll have to learn formulas and class match-up again, EXACTLY like when tranclasses were released. That's it.

I initially agreed with that as a lorefag, since suddenly the whole conflict between the Kingdom of Rune-Midgard and the Sacred Empire of Arunafeltz and the race for pieces of the Ymir Heart (and whatever the fuck the Rekember Corporation wanted to achieve by keeping a lot of them under their control while at the same time selling high tech weaponry to the Arunafeltz priests) came to a halt due to the threat of a larger and common enemy, but...

It turned out to be pretty neat. There's tons of quests in the Tripartite Alliance Camp that explore how the three countries are still trying to pull each others legs, and even quests where you can chase down the cultists that helped Satan Morroc come back and discover a lot of shit about how and why they did it (if you did the old Dandelion quests, you're going to re-encounter some cool old NPCs from the Assassin's Guild). The conflict between the Saphas (the Ice Giants from Jottunheim, that is what Ash Vacuum actually is) and the Laphines (a subspecies of elves that came from Alfheim) is also a neat touch, and apparently (major spoiler ahead) Satan Morroc has disguised himself as the ruler of the Sapha tribe and is using a second dimensional rift south of the Kamidal Mountains for some still unknown purpose, so some huge shit is going to happen in the next episodes.

Did some of those quests when I tried renewal on a private server a couple of years ago. They were certainly interesting and I loved the interaction between the different people working in the midcamp. I don't think I touched on the Dandellion quest but I remember pursuing Raiyan Moore.

The last time I read the changelogs, they were making a story on how Glast Heim went to shit. I wonder how that went? As for your spoilers, I certainly wasn't expecting that. Are you the same person who wrote the lore things on iROwiki and the RO threads?

They're probably going to explore what the manga had started about pacts with demons bringing the whole shit down (and Geffenia going along). Bifrost also has the Loki from the manga, and now Himel is going to show up in Glast Heim, so I guess Lee is going through a nostalgic phase.

And no, I'm not that guy. The dude who did those big lore speculation threads (unfortunately I wasn't actually there, I just saw the screencaps a while later), despite having noticed a couple cool things such as how the fragments you get in Juperos form the Schwartzwald Republic crest when combined, actually wasn't nearly as deep into the lore as people seem to think he is. Most of his theories are stupid attempts to explain things that the game itself explains already in totally optional quests, and he seemed to not know about a lot of basic stuff, such as the illegal Hetarium mining Rekember keeps in Veins (or what Hetarium is, in the first place), or about the original Ymir Heart pieces found in the Odin's Temple and inside Einbech's mine, OR about how the Republic's President was overthrown and why that's relevant. The dude obviously had done only the quests needed to give access to dungeons/Ktunallux's summoning, and just went from that.

I must be the only one who likes the female royal guard sprites and design. She looks really cute and sexy. She also looks like she's down to fug any time. I wish I could fug my royal guard wife. I want to fug her more than anything.

I'm guessing these Barmund and Heinrich guys are probably part of the first generations of the Rune-Midgard Royal Families, the seven guys who actually killed Jormungandr. But that's just a wild guess.

Himmel is the necromancer who attempts to steal the Ymir Heart that is under Rune-Midgard's control (it may be just one, but it's the biggest) in the manga. It happens around the 6th or 7th one. Quoting a guy in that thread:
