Bad dog. Now I have to strike you.

You don't like that do you?

Obviously she needs to be trained and looked after.

Hitting dogs doesn't teach them anything other than to avoid you.

It does teach them things they shouldn't do.
You just need to make sure to not hit them with your hands.

I disagree, my cousins dog is very very well trained because her husband hit it when it messed up earlier in its life.

>> No.10058041

>>10058004
Yeah, I know it doesn't teach them anything (at least from my experience). I'm just being silly. My dog is just too old though to learn from her mistakes, or too old to control her bladder. Either way she can't help it.

Nudging them or getting them to lose focus on what they were doing is far more effective than just smacking them. If a dog is doing something it isn't supposed to all you need to do is get it into the habit of not doing it anymore, not threatening it with physical pain.

It depends on the dog. It's not so much that you're hitting them, it's that you're usually angry when you're doing it. Dogs want to please you, so they learn to avoid doing things that upset you.

I use those techniques with my dogs and they still act up often and are not nearly as well trained as my cousins dog.

Physical pain is the fastest way to tell a dog to not do something. If you miss the opportunity to train your animal early, you are screwed.

>> No.10058254

We used an old police manual to train our family dog which involved taking a balled up chain and throwing it at the dog if it wandered too far away from you during walks among other things. Grew up to be the best behaved dog I've ever met, also one of the smartest.

When I fap to Momiji, I like to imagine myself about to have consensual sex in missionary position, but then she gets frustrated that I'm "doing it wrong" and absolutely demands that I mount her like a dog.

>> No.10058321

You have to be a real thumb-rolling, indecisive beta if you can't control a dog without violence.

That's how animals work. Also, punishing your dog isn't automatically "violence". It's exactly the same as getting angry at kids, they may cry if you raise your voice too much, but it doesn't mean you are being violent.

I've never seen an alpha dog gone loose on an established underling. To the contrary I've seen twenty+ Huskies completely dominated for years by a 20cm high pet-dog with rheumatism.

Striking is for incompetents without the makings of boss.

You probably never had a non-corgi sized dog.

When kids act like retards, the parents get angry at them. It's the same for dogs. Gently telling your dog that eating shoes is bad won't teach it to behave.

hurr

>Gently telling your dog
Don't take me for one of those.
I'm just saying not to get violently physical because dogs don't actually do that regularly.
