The stage 5 midboss, Tojiko is known to use coarse language and can be seen as rough, but she's actually kind if short-tempered. She's almost a polar opposite to Futo's light and breezy demeanor.

The stage 5 boss, Futo's lightheaded and cheerful attitude have made her a fan-favorite among the Touhou community. Although possibly an arsonist, nothing is out of reach when it comes to upholding her sense of duty to the crown princess.

The leader of the bunch, Miko's ability to read the Ten Desires of a person seems to extend well beyond what you would normally think, even reading minds! She's ambitious, a natural leader, and powerful, making her a formidable opponent.

Tojiko is more interesting than Futo and I wish she got more attention.

Futo and Miko are characters that I think require a lot of subtlety, making them a bit hard to pin down. that's what I think

Tojiko is a little easier in that aspect perhaps
anyway I really like the three of them, because their personalities and pasts are very interesting to think and ponder about.

Or a lot of japanese artists just choose not to.

I think the problem with Miko is that she is the extreme opposite of "down to earth". I imagine her as someone with a lot of wisdom and a broad understanding of the world, but at same time very little real-life experiences. Because she is that kind of character, it's hard to relate to her and hard to emulate her way of thought.

With the information we have at hand today, it's really hard to understand what actually happened between Futo and Tojiko. So much of it is contradictory... But that's also what I think makes the two of them so interesting.

There might be a slim chance of something being revealed in HP that might shed some light, but I highly doubt it.

By "real-life experiences" I meant everyday things. I think the chances are she led a pretty sheltered life, with the luxury of never begin questioned. Luckily, she's a smart and compassionate woman, but even so she abused her power already in life to gain immortality and enforced buddhism to assure she could remain in control. But of course, she only thought of everyone best interests.

True that probably, even if by "everyday things" I don't necessarily mean taking it easy. Begin an ordinary person in her time was most likely not easy, not saying it was harder. Just different.
