That's super inefficient if you think about it, just look up the words you don't know but don't bother mining. Way better to mine them when you encounter them in a 1 unknown word sentence later. Plus you acquire a lot of words without anki anyway so you there's a chance you'll accidentally know them before your next opportunity to mine them, which adds even further to the inefficiency of mining the multiple missing words passage

>Just as the offensive power of a squadron of cavalry, or the defensive power of a regiment of infantry is essentially different from the sum of the offensive or defensive powers of the individual cavalry or infantry soldiers taken separately, so the sum total of the mechanical forces exerted by isolated workmen differs from the social force that is developed, when many hands take part simultaneously in one and the same undivided operation, such as raising a heavy weight, turning a winch, or removing an obstacle. In such cases the effect of the combined labour could either not be produced at all by isolated individual labour, or it could only be produced by a great expenditure of time, or on a very dwarfed scale. Not only have we here an increase in the productive power of the individual, by means of co-operation, but the creation of a new power, namely, the collective power of masses.

I don't see how waiting for the perfect i+1 sentence is more efficient than mining new words as you see them. By your logic, you should never mine at all because you'll "acquire" the words without Anki over time anyway.

Spending extra time with no benefit is considered inefficient. The whole point of mining a sentence is that the context of known language makes the meaning of the word easier to remember at a glance which is the point of a flash card rather than to waste time wracking your brain. You could just mine several word cards without the sentences which can help you get those words a bit faster if you force it, but the thing is at the level where you're still new enough to encounter passages with 10 words most of the cards you're making are overkill anyway cause they're such common words that you automatically review them constantly anyway with a few daily hours of reading and listening

different anon, but i'll just go and look for another example sentence when i have multiple words in a sentence i want to mine.
i hate meta reviewing the other new words i mined at that time when i look at the context sentence before they've become mature. if it's an anime or something i just ctrl+f since the word will pop up multiple times in the subs, otherwise i just go to jisho or context reverso to snatch a context sentence from there.
the n+1s stack up and what was an n+5 sentence a few weeks ago gets whittled down to another n+1

I don't see how you're "wasting time wracking your brain" by looking up the unknown words in a sentence and adding them to your deck. If anything, you're saving time in the long run by learning the words now, instead of waiting to learn them later.
>>47130922
