Well yes, they aren’t evil. They genuinely want to help humans. It’s just that they don’t seem to understand how evil humans can be, so any magic that falls into human hands is inevitably going to be used for evil. This already happened in lore, with some evil sorcerer trying to use Rabnit Insignia to brainwash and mind-break a bunch of kidnapped human women. Boiled down, it makes whatever woman it’s engraved on constantly hony and wanting sex, as opposed to the other insignias that only activate under certain conditions. So one day a human sorcerer who apparently had very high INT but very little WIS decided he was going to take the original “Rabbit Charm” the insignia is based on, crank up its effects, and use it to mindbreak and enslave any girl he wanted.
However, he forgot that in order for that plan to work you have to do some preliminary mindbreaking beforehand to actually make those women desire him post-insignia. He didn’t, and then he apparently forgot to put a lock on the door he was keeping his kidnap victims in. Surprise surprise, almost every single woman he kidnapped for the experiments broke out and went back to the guys they actually wanted instead of the creepy kidnapper wizard. Apparently one woman actually managed to fall in love with him (a.k.a desire him) beforehand, so that woman actually did what he wanted.
It was basically a pure stroke of luck that prevented those women from becoming slaves.
