/a/ still has generals. They exist in the form of chain threads with no straightforward direction. Chain threads are just Generals in disguise. The reason why threads arent nuked on sight is because they are generals but they are not generals at the surface if you took a glance at it.
/a/ has general threads but they aren't in the /vg/ format of general threads. Making blatant generals like [fuck this shit - /fts/ #69] will get you a ban but basing it around something and having chain threads that have a downtime in between will make it look like a reoccuring thread and not a blatant general thread that "is made for no specific purpose but to have a thread."
The Dragon Ball threads of late are just a general- a shitposting general that sees enough activity to be chained in succession with no downtime and being immune to being called a general because it isn't formatted that way but instead in the most idiotic way with the simplest of already answered questions that eventually are dropped at the first 40 or less posts before delving into a shitfest.
"General" threads on /a/ just circlejerk the same shit, repeating itself in a number of threads. In a way, its really just threads 1-3 will be topics a-c and thread 4 will be topic d but when thread 5 hits, they'll talk about topic a-c again and repeat the process. And then the rest of the board will be shitposting, normalfags and seasonal trash if not all three in the same thread withthe occasional old anime thread every other week or two that slowly dies before bump limit or just barely gets to bump limit.
Saying /a/ doesn't have generals is just stupid. Yeah, they dont have blatant generals like "NTR Thread #619" with a huge block of useless text but a sizable portion of the board is nothing more but chain threading while avoiding the style of a general. The Mod said to stop making threads just to make them and generals were outlawed but it doesn't mean those faggots over at /a/ just stopped doing it. They only found ways around it. Not to mention how they "abandoned their board culture" to make things worse for their complaints.
