Alright, that sounds fairly romantic. That said, there would probably be Vampire-specific rituals that permit the extraction of substantial amounts of blood without killing the husband. Further or in the alternative, a combination of anaesthetic magic and Undead Grey Lamentation Shrooms followed by immediate sexual activity might be able to permit the extraction of up to two litres of blood. This would probably have the added benefit of immediate incubization.

The relatively limited quantity of blood extracted by this mechanism should probably suffice for the Vampire's purposes, assuming monogamy, and careful husbanding of the vintage. One would imagine such a rare and potent elixir of blood would only be sampled on landmark, happy occasions, such as births and weddings, and even then only one cup at each occasion.
