If anything, a soft dragon would be stronger than a normal one. Think about it. If she's soft, it's because she was strong enough to amass a huge hoard and be intimidating enough that nobody was willing to challenge her. She's gotten to lounge around and get chubby atop her mountain of gold because she was a badass.
