After being lost in scarlet devil mansion for god knows how long, week ago I finally ordered PCB...

And it arrived today! Started it up and instantly tried out Sakuya B. It was pretty neat, tho I guess getting used to Sakuya's movements will take a while. The game seems harder than EoSD too. This comes from quite casual Touhou player, who plays rather rarely. I always played as Marisa too; loved the speed. We'll see if I'll switch back to her, but I'm giving Sakuya a try for now.

Sorry for gameplay-ish post, but I thought it'd be better to write something than just post an image and bump the thread.

I have this theory that Sakuya used to be a time-stopping assassin for the Polish nobility. She was absolutely flawless, and for this reason, her boss and benefactor, a count of the house of Gryfici, abused her to gain massive political power and wealth. The rival house of Waza was not pleased, and so they hired a militant exorcist from the Vatican to kill her; he had the ability to move through time-space and thus move even when the assassin stopped time.

However, the Vatican realized that this assassin was way too powerful to waste by putting her to the pyre, so they secretly took her soul and her previous identity in exchange for immortality and eternal loyalty. She spent the next hundred-ish years exterminating demons, until in 1762 she had to face one of the descendents of Vlad III of Wallachia: Remilia Stacojiu. She lost, and now she was bound in body, mind, fate and soul to Remilia.

I like to think Sakuya's name was Stanislawa Kowalczykowna.

Touhou isn't that hard, in 2-3 weeks after starting EoSD, i got to Remilia with 2 lives left and no continues used.

Then after stopping for a month i barely get to Patchouli.
Persistence is important, it's not really that difficult.

That happened on my first time dealing with 80% Reflowering in PCB. I had no lives or bombs left, the timer was at 0, I jumped out of my chair to cheer at my accomplishment because I was so excited. My blood was flowing like I was given a large dosage of caffeine with cocaine on the side. But instead of seeing pink flying towards Sakuya, I saw a continuation screen. It was a long and hard journey, I fought with everything I had, but in the end, I lost to my own stupidity.

It's a shame about Sakuya.

I'm wondering if it may be some sort of mass hysteric denial. When you have the reputation of being the "perfect maid", perhaps all too many people interpret that as an unbridled ability to kick ass and take names.
Perhaps the same people couldn't handle the revelation that while Sakuya still is the perfect maid, she - literally - isn't a rocket scientist.

Besides Mokou, nobody really dies in a spellcard battle.

The only part that could be interpreted as a death is when midboss Sakuya explodes without further explanation in Remi's stage - but since Sakuya appears again in PCB the point is moot.
