A few years ago I found myself in your situation and just told the barber my mom cut it. We were both just like, "ho ho, silly women, thinking they know how to do things," and that was that.

Just because it's a bad cut doesn't necessarily mean you did it. The guy probably won't even say anything to you, and if he does, blame it on someone else. Presumably you're too old to be living with your mom, so just say your friend did it.
