"'Tis not mine best..." Futo muttered, her body hanging freely. "I hath immeasurable toil caused to yon handmaidens of Myouren, mine Crown Prince." She addressed the blonde, who nodded slowly. The Crown Prince, I supposed. This really was seeming very familiar. "Prithee release me! We shalt raze yon fane to the ground, cleansed in fervant flame and-"

"Ah, well, you see, I'm going to have to decline your offer, Futo." The Crown Prince said, finally lowering back to the ground and releasing Futo in a heap, though she quickly scrambled to her feet. "It would cause quite a bit of a disturbance, especially on an important night like this one. Perhaps it would be better if you were to return to senkai, Futo." She patted her hands against her cloak. "And...Perhaps you could spend that time meditating on when it is best to consider mischief against Buddhists. "He who conquers himself is mighty." After all." The Crown Prince nodded sagely, though Futo looked rather put out.

"I...But, Mine Crown Prince..." Futo began, then trailed off. It seemed as if they'd forgotten I was here. It was like trying to talk to Komachi and Kisami all over again. "To remain at yon senkai on one's lonesome, it's..."

"Yes, Futo? Is something the matter?" The Crown Prince asked. "Ah, and don't worry," She suddenly cast her eyes over to me with a light smile, "I'll get to you soon enough." I blinked and nodded, not really sure what to say. Belatedly, I wondered why I'd so readily agreed. "You may remain there if it is to your liking, or return to your search for your loved one. I do believe that is what your heart desires, is it not?" Frowning this time, I asked her how she'd possibly known that. "I hear things." She told me mysteriously.

"U-Um!" Futo exclaimed, drawing the Crown Prince's attention back. "If - If it wouldst pleaseth thee, Mine appetency is to greet the New Year with mine Crown Prince!" She said, her hands fidgeting and her gaze downcast. She looked down too, and I saw her try and kick her feet against the ground to dislodge some of the snow currently stuck to her legs and shoes.

The Crown Prince looked away from me and back to Futo with a curious expression. A moment later, she clasped her hands behind her back and underneath the cape, then stepped forward. She reached one hand out, keeping the other behind her back, and lifted Futo's chin with a finger so that the two were looking at each other. "I think we can keep quiet about this little escapade, hmm? Why don't you return to the party? Tojiko should be around. Go on, now. I'll be right along." To my surprise, Futo nodded immediately and took off in the direction of the back of the Shrine. A moment later, I was left with the Taoist, who looked over her shoulder at me. "She's always trying to garner my approval. Since long ago." She turned, sweeping her hair out of her eyes again. "Hello. My name is Toyosatomimi no Miko. And it seems that I owe you a debt of thanks."

I blinked and realised that I'd been staring. She had a sort of effortless charisma. What for, I asked with some confusion. "You tripped over Futo, didn't you? If you hadn't, she might have come up with something a bit more...destructive. I don't think Reimu needs the stress, do you? Hmm, Reimu's little brother?" I frowned, then asked her how she could know that. "I heard it." She told me, tapping the side of one earmuff. She lifted it and cupped a hand around the back of her ear as she leaned forward. "On the wind. In the whispers." She told me in a breathless voice. "Also, because I met Keine Kamishirasawa in the village yesterday and she happened to let it slip. I got the impression that she was rather happy to see you." I stammered some sort of acknowledgement. Miko watched me with a curious expression. "Would you like to know what Reimu has planned for midnight?" I frowned and asked her what she was talking about. "Her surprise. You desire an answer, do you not?" I sort of did, I suppose. "Ah, but you won't ask. You trust that she's right and knowing would ruin the surprise, as it were." I felt like I was talking to Satori Komeiji. I was allowed to get more than a word in edgewise, but Toyosatomimi no Miko also seemed to know all that I was going to say.

"I suppose a true introduction is in order. My name is Toyosatomimi no Miko. I can hear the cry of your desires. I know that you wish to propose marriage to Yamame Kurodani, a tsuchigumo from the underground of Gensokyo. I know that you will believe that what I am saying is true, because it's no more ridiculous than some of the other youkai you have met. I know that you're worried about Miss Kurodani's present location, as well as that of your guardian, Keine Kamishirasawa."
