No, they are not. Guro's all about what comes after the peril. It's all the death and blood and gore. Peril's about the process; a good peril scenario will almost always end before the end.

Japanese bathrooms are mostly watertight and have drains. Here, the drain is plugged up (see the tape?) so the room's going to slowly fill with water until it rises above her breathing tube.
I don't think it's that evil, but it is a creative twist on the whole bathtub drowning thing.

No, peril.
Peril is not torture, ryona, or guro. It isn't about pain or death, at least not directly. The girl is left almost entirely unharmed until the deathtrap, whatever it may be, goes off, and is therefor left to her fear.
And no, there isn't a lot of material for this. It almost always devolves into outright guro or torture.
