its not just the slight variations in doujin personality. that im fine with, there is so little that is actually canon about her that it would be foolish for me to expect everyone to have the exact same interpretation as me. I believe momiji is more uptight since she doesnt like aya and looks down on crow tengu in general for being annoying and nosey, and seems hard to approach, but is very soft around people she likes rather than being an anything goes laid back person like someone else in this thread said. thats ok I'm fine with that.

its the association with shit like pic related has completely overwhelmed everything else. very upsetting to me and then I also get associated with it too. /jp/ has been resistant to it as people here actually care about touhou and know better but everywhere else shes just a mascot for r/thedonald and I feel like something special has been taken from me. its blown over somewhat but 2016 was pure hell thanks to /pol/ and I dread 2020.
