No there isn't, it's a shitty insult that gets thrown around at everyone and everything too much often on the Japanese Internet for any people to take it at face value. And the "normal people" on the street are also luckily above such frivolous fanwars.
Besides, I'd rank people like Haruko Obogata (compulsive liar, embezzler, forger, opportunist, responsible for the suicide of one of her coworkers and undoing the whole Japanese scientific program) and other examples of white collar criminals much higher on the "shameful Japan" scale, than a group that's just "guilty" of making music you don't like.
But I guess that some people have a bad case of tunnel vision and too much limited a scope of knowledge and just can't realize how ridicoulously pointless their hung-ups are.
