It's not really where I started. I learned Hiragana and Katakana first. Then tried reading and found kanji constantly interrupting things. So I figured fuck it, and am working my way toowards learning all the kanji now, instead of saving them until later.

But it seems compound words will also be a bitch. Well I knew this wasnt going to be easy, but as a /v/irgin, I dont really have a choice.
