How on Earth do you get Kitakami to the boss node in one piece?

Every run, no matter what formation I take, the following happens:
1. Flag Ta/ Flag Nu sends her to yellow/orange/red in the first fight
2. CV Hime one-shots her the opening air bombing
3. CV Hime one-shots her during shelling phase
4. Senkan Hime one-shots her during shelling phase

I literally have yet to see Kitakami make it to night battle with the boss.
