It was a cloudy night. A night like there existed many, throughly unimpressive in what it offered. You could perhaps say just as much about how Anon chose to spend his night. As Anon remained throughly immersed with his virtual exchanges, one could only wonder if he had been destined for such a fate, or if that display of mild concentration and occasional clicks was but the cemetary of Anon's vanishing dreams.
However, an unlikely encounter would shake Anon's lonely realm. Paranoid as all souls left to themselves become over time, Anon couldn't possibly miss the sound of a nearby chair falling. This prompted Anon to make his way to the living room, with the swiftness of the bravest spirits, but the cowardice and fear that one would expect out of a shut-in. As he made his way to the living room, Anon would make a most unlikely encounter. A woman, floating in the air, causing this ruckus? For what purpose? Her outfit phasing through the chest of drawers seemed to indicate that she was some sort of ghost, too, but that did not deter Anon from looking at this most unusual presence.
The most lecherous of Anon's virtual friends would have maybe taken notice of that woman's fancy looking dress, her silk gloves that were as white as the purest of doves, or that hat which gave off the impression that this lady had made her way here for a purpose and it was up to Anon to teach her all about his world, for it seemed completely foreign to her, tourist of his home that she is. Instead of all of that, Anon's attention went to the look the poltergeist gave as she was causing all that cacophony. He recognized that semblance of focus & commitment to it, but beneath it, there seemed to be a hint of sadness to it, one that Anon knew all too well... this strange feeling of entertaining the delusion that your daily grind will somehow provide you with a sense of accomplishment, happiness, or even purpose. Anon unknowingly had given Kana the same result she dreaded despite moving out of the mansion she had spent years haunting - indifference.
As Kana was about to float away, Anon couldn't help but ask her how she was and tried to learn more about her. After all, it wasn't often Anon would be hit with such strong feelings of inexplicable empathy. Soon enough, Anon would learn all about Kana, from her name to her troubled past. Anon was certainly as clueless as any living being is regarding the after life, but if it was even half as grim and boring as Kana made it out to be, it certainly convinced him that looking forward to it was as foolish as fearmongerers would like you to believe.
Upon hearing Kana's story, a sort of newfound energy hit Anon. Kana's haunting endeavors would no longer remain a vanishing dream. He was going to help her find some victims, and together, they'll witness fear beyond a ghost's wildest dreams! A real heart stopping show was about to make its way to the world!
Will this newfound purpose bring happiness to the both of them?
Will these scary antics be the opportunity for Kana to learn more about the joys of life beyond cheap spooks?
Only time will tell.
