A week after the incident one of your sisters bangs on your door announcing that you have a 'female caller'. It's probably Sanae, come to apologize for the whole sorted affair so you figure 'why not?' It's not as if you hated her and it's rude to ignore guests.
The living room has been immaculately prepared by your mother and sisters, who were no doubt spying in the wings, but it wasn't Sanae sipping tea by the kotatsu, it was Suwako, achieving a clever disguise by omitting her iconic hat and changing to a kimono, which ruined the effort since it was covered in frog symbols anyway.
Greeting her formally you take a seat opposite of her and are surprised by her bowing "I apologize for our conduct, we merely wanted to test if you were simply lusting after Sanae, but we were excessive in our efforts. For that I am sorry." It's not often a god apologizes she must be truly remorse-"However! I can't excuse your disrespect!" she states, sliding around the corner of the kotatsu to your side. That was more like it. You suppress a shudder as the girl proceeds to lecture you directly into your ear.
"It's not right to be so interested in a girl's relatives, true, but one should still be kind to them after all! So, perhaps if you can compliment me in a proper manner I'll let you continue to see Sanae."
Tricky. Telling her something like 'your hair smells nice' is certainly too far, but saying something as innocuous as 'you're very well-spoken' could be taken as an insult, woman wanted to be seen as woman after all.
"Your kimino is very cute." You say, complimenting her appearance, but something she consciously chose. "Frogs are a very nice motif."
"Y-you think so?" She says, covering her mouth with a sleeve. "D-do you like frogs?"
Too much, but dialing back now isn't an option. "They're very charismatic creatures and their croaks are calming."
"Well! That is a fine compliment! Sanae has chosen well I see. Say, have you eaten today? Perhaps you'd like me treat you to complete my apology and welcome you into the family?" She replies, grabbing your arm.
That last bit seemed a little rushed, but it was fruitless to refuse her at this point. A god is a god so you let her do as she pleases and allow her to pull you out of the house, much to the excitement of the rest of your family hiding in the shadows.
