Ethics is a human construct. Or rather, every ethical judgement you make has side effects. The cost of making things illegal simply because they sound wrong is that people die. Is it worth it to let others die so you don't have to feel bad?

I agree that everybody should have the right to decide for themselves what sort of treatment they do or do not want. Although I'd be willing to bet that if you were actually given the choice between a pig-grown kidney and death, you would choose to live.

I do not personally think a brainless body counts as a human in any meaningful sense, although I suppose I can see some reason for controversy. But then, do you protect the rights of animals with the same fervor? Surely an alive and conscious cat is more ethically significant than a brainless corpse kept alive on life support?
