Non-lesbian females detest actual female homosexuality. It's just kisses and fondling in order to please the boys that is allowed, and maybe going on a date with a lesbian once to try things out. Actual lesbian sex rarely happens. Women like gay men, but gay women are offensive since they aren't devoting their lives to competing with other women for the attention of macho men and since they might take kisses and fondling between women seriously, which is yucky - it's only acceptable when you do it for show in front of a male crowd. Women are okay with gay women feeling attracted to them, and afraid of two gay women being attracted to each other. Ever noticed how in "lesbian" hentai and porn they almost always look at the viewer, as though inviting a man in? That's the kind of female homosexuality women accept.

The thought of two women actually desiring and loving each other, on the other hand, makes them into "second grade women" since they aren't all about men. They make heterosexual women insecure, since competition for the attention of men is so important to them and women who truly feel attracted to other women disregard this important social game. They're seen as freaks and not real women, and even though they won't be aggressive or open about it like homophobic men, they subtly alienate and paternalise women with homosexual attraction that crosses the line of bicurious. You cannot confront them about it, either, since they'll deny their indirect aggression and homophobia.
