Firstly, I hope you don't take offense here on /jp/ to the term weeaboo. I don't post here, so if you do, my bad.

Now, on to my main topic.

Americunt here. I live just south of DC. I was at the Cherry Blossom Festival that occurred on Friday, it basically doubles as a local "Japanese appreciation day," all the Asian store runners set up tents and sell their stuff at triple the price or so, anyways, I just gotta say, whoa.

What's with all the black Japanophiles and nerds?! While I was there, I saw a negro Link, Cloud, two negress Organization XIII members, and several other black people in kimonos and occasionally colored wigs.

Now I figured I would see a couple here or there...but there was just a disproportionate amount of them. More black than white, or even Asian for that matter!

Is this because there's just a standard percentage of nerds and weeaboos in any given area, and DC happens to have a large black majority? Because I thought that DC had a big hip hop scene, and most black people around here latch on to that...Not that there's anything wrong with it, I was just really surprised.
