They talk for a bit about Battler's brain damage which makes him think about his old memories like they are a stranger's, and how about meeting Ange would have probably "unlocked" them and he would have seen his body taken away by a stranger.
Then here he says he's sorry because now nothing happened and he should have done it sooner, while crying.
