For me, it's less a list of certain criteria and more of a test: they qualify as "great" when they can demonstrate 10/10 desperate/needy (but not necessarily slutty) acting for a role. Yearning is not always an easy emotion to convincingly express on screen without the actress seeming awkward or self-conscious and can often be overexaggerated. Maybe it's that quote about good acting drawing from personal experience that makes my brain fill in the gaps whenever I see a hag accurately portraying sexual dissatisfaction followed by lust and sexual liberation/realisation.

these are great traits too, hag energy is definitely one of those feelings that are quite "know it when you see it" but not always easy to articulate
