Opinions. The only N+ I liked more is muramasa. Sadly, despite being fucking awesome with one of the best moments in eroges, protag, I felt Hello world has its shortcomings (skipping for fucking hours to name my biggest complain, and how some routes are kinda repeated with minor variations such as Wakana-Mika) while the entirety of Saya was addicting and fascinating.
I don't consider Gekkou to be great myself. It's pretty good, but I didn't feel that "plus" in it which would evaluate it on the ranks of my other favorites (unlike the other 3 aforementioned).

I loved "Hello, world." to bits.

Can't help you with book comparisons though, I'm mainly only familiar with my crappy native country's literature.
