I kinda know the feeling, although it is not nearly as bad where I live. Using public post offices, it is usually one week from Japan to the capital of my country, then 1-3 weeks from there to my city (not a random village in the middle of nowhere, but the 3rd city of the Country). Embarrasing, but not that bad.

On the other hand, when they say they are going to deliver a package on a given day, they do it diligently and in a predictable time slot.

My experience with private companies is exactly the opposite: very fast travel of your packege, but the day of delivery is chaotic: either you wait all day, because you can't predict when it is going to arrive, or it does not arrive because they have too much packages to deliver and then they lie to you saying you weren't home to pick it up.
