Heaven In Her Arms makes me wonder if all of Japan just has horrible naming sense. Really, now.

They also, however, are the first thing resembling screamo that I've not absolutely hated. Heavy, but not generic. Double-bass, but classy. Screaming, yes, but we can shove that under the rug and talk about how well they establish mood and atmosphere throughout the album. It's hard defending screamo, but it can be done decently well.

Kicking off today is an EP by Heaven In Her Arms, which is a little different from most of the other music posted so far. The closest approximation would be "screamo", as much as I hate to admit it. Switching between slow, quiet sessions with spoken-word lyrics and louder, more energetic screams, all the while backing them up with eerie instrumentals, this EP is a bit of a ride. You may not like screamo music, and that's all right - maybe this isn't for you. If you can stand it though, give this a listen. It's a cut above most of the stuff I've heard.
