What? Tenshi is hella fine in those departments, especially considering the only status effect resistance that really matters lategame for Tenshi is instant death.

The issue with using Tenshi in this game isn't even the prevalence of her comparitively low HP growth, or piercing attacks, or instant death attacks. All that can be worked around. The issue is attacks that hit you, do zero damage, and then half the HP of your whole party anyways, and honestly no tank except Komachi and maybe off-tank Hina, sitting on tens of thousands of HP, have a way to deal with that
