To make friends isn't really an easy task (specially if you have too few or none to begin with) but it's always doable. There are two ways you can choose, which I consider the best ways.
The first way is you start from your already existing friends (if you have any) and start "friending" their friends and getting acquainted with other/ their social circles.
The second way is that if you go to school/ college/ any kind of class or activity that you do at least once per week, you can invest time into meeting the people who is there with you. For me, the best scenario to do is in language classes, because the atmosphere just seems lighter and friendlier in those, as well as there being actually interesting cultural discussions that arise because of the class itself and make things easier.
If you think people are weirded out by your apperance/ behaviour, you might want to work on that and change what you're doing. Can you figure out how? Why do you talk with eyes closed, and what exactly are you afraid of?
Any further questions just ask them away.

What are some good starting decks, for vocabulary and kanji?

Btw, I think pic is very much related to this thread.

Writer/musician/coder here.

I have both failed and completed projects. The key to finishing projects is some kind of motivation beyond the initial 'this idea would be great' motivation. The progress itself can be motivating (I've started to work harder on a game because the game started becoming fun to play before), but the best motivators are deadlines (I have to finish this part by next week!) and other people (hey, have you finished X yet? Hurry up, I need it to implement Y). The initial motivation runs out at some point, and if at that point people don't get enough of a 'I need to get back to work' prod, the project will fail.

The problem with /jp/ is that you can't set deadlines (because fuck you I have other things to do) and you can't rush them because they can just vanish without a trace (anonymity). With no other sources of motivation, participants start working on a project less and less and eventually stop working on things altogether.

The only things I can finish without any extra source of motivation are very short stories (<1000 words) and single pieces of music.

I disagree with you both. It doesn't 'even out', but it can be enjoyed despite the shitty main story. If you treat the chapters as if they were separate stories, it's a lot more enjoyable. The story as a whole is terrible, but the individual chapters were great.

And Tsubaki just too pure. What is she doing in a game like this ;_;
