Janitor can send in ban requests for longer than 15 minute bans. Which I think most of the moderators immediately accept without much thought at all, so for all intensive purposes janitors basically can hand out real bans.

You seem to not realize why I want it. I would never sign up for some shit like facebook or Google+, even if it meant never posting on 4chan again. I would be happy if it was implemented because it would drive off a very large portion of the userbase which will be spread out to other imageboard communities.
