It took me a while (well, I took breaks), but I'm back and have answered my own question and figured out some other interesting things. 4chan has begun using Cloudflare Polish, which compresses images that are served from their CDN. This means most (all?) 4chan images that have been served in at least the last few months are compressed. You can get around this Cloudflare caching's compression by attaching a questionmark and then some junk characters to the end of an image's url, like so: https://i.4cdn.org/jp/1698445718694454.png?kjsfsdfjksdf
