If you think CC or GSS actually competes with Muv-Luv (yes, both of them as you can't play Alternative without playing Extra/Unlimited first) you just need to get out and play more VNs. Jesus Christ.

However, with that beign said, no one, NO ONE who isn't being paid is going to devote so much of their life to doing Muv-Luv. All of the parts are so massive it would be like transcribing War and Peace or something. At least with Sharin no Kuni and G-Senjeou they are actually manageable in length. And with Sharin no Kuni the first chapter has already been translated.

Also, while I don't consider Sharin no Kuni better than G-Senjou, it does have one of Emperor Wakamoto's best roles as the despotic superior of the male protagonist. Check out some of this scenes:
