Carpets (especially if covering the entire room) fucking suck. Why they are so popular in North America is beyond me.

Dusty, hard to clean, and need to be replaced often.

Hardwood and laminate are the best. Tatami is sort of acceptable, and linoleum is almost okay if you're really short on funds.
