I'm going to be honest, I know nothing about the Fbates one but mirror moon is THE FSN translation. Especially if they're an oldfag that's the one people are going to know and reference, and while there are absolutely errors in it's still "iconic" I guess. But I would get an opinion from someone who knows about the retranslation as well.

It all makes more sense if you understand fantasy to be a exaggerated depiction of reality(like how ritual and occultism is literal fireball magic). Nasu isn't "wanking humanity" he's depicting humanity's real life hegemony through exaggerated fantasy lens. The human order is to that what a fireball spell is to real life occultism.
