Average, I'd say? Neither Solar nor our faceless self-insert gets treated too differently. But LNs do say that men can be either monogamous or polygamous because of their rarity, and that they are weaker and can't fight pests because they have no worldflower blessing (but then again, the knightmaster does teach/spar with a lot of girls on equal footing in their character quests).

Here's a 2ch anon's more comprehensive look at the matter, his general conclusion is that the prequel and the game proper have one canon where men are common and their treatment is what you'd expect from an average sword-and-sorcery setting, while the novels and world guide have an alternative take where men are very rare (and may be treated differently because of that). It's probably like Nazuna building an entire whale airship at will or being able to run faster than flower knights despite not being one herself (note that flower knights usually don't ride horses because they run faster), the knightmaster is exactly as strong and rare as the story wants him to be.

That said, I still think that he should've been a kind elder sister instead.

I still want these to show up as actual playable characters. When are we getting a general/strategist/knight school instructor who leads an entourage of mob knights and summons them Jersey Cudweed-style in her attacks?

We don't have a laurel in the game yet, and both its flower meaning ("glory, ambition") and general associations are dead ringers for a flower knight Caesar.

But they still need to do a lot of the 2*/3* crowd. SD ojisan's job never ends.

The standard bodies are still pretty cute though, look at these generic knights that appear in game tips. They even show up in the prequel during the Anthurium/Hibiscus chapter, they should be made playable already.

It could be neat to have a laurel-themed, laurel-crowned general/knight school instructor who leads a team of apprentice knights to glory and summons them Jersey Cudweed-style in her attacks.
