Please keep the criticism constructive. We may be ridiculous buyfags but it's obviously not how we measure each other. But yes, you caught me. I'm fishing for advice and thank you.

I metered for the blinds then came up one stop to try to get some glow ontop of the background blur. however the 50mm 1.4 even stopped down to 5.6 still feels lacking so I swapped out then took your advice on metering. Unfortunately the sun has come down some and my 20d only has center weight and not spot metering.

tl;dr, conditions different, changed lens, took advice, here's the result.
