>It'd be nice for other writers if this new power had a way to be either exploited or countered like it was with just their connection and the bracelet, otherwise to defeat them there'll be need to just brute force it, which is never fun to write about
I gotcha. I'll make it so that it relies on both of them to work as well as sensitive to the state of the HSE. So, if you can separate the two or disorient one of them, they can't use it and if the HSE becomes damaged, so does their reference point so their accuracy goes down and they'll take psych damage as well. I imagine they're weak to someone like Suwako as well since she's a curse goddess and all.

>It's honestly really ridiculous how Goro went from having zero combat experience to being able to beat powerful opponents quite easily in such a short amount of time
The idea is that they're sort of a 'rejection' of Gensokyo's current state of dueling and individualism. In that respect: Seija has an ability that, in theory, is powerful, but she can't use it to the fullest because she's bullheaded, Goro has no combat experience, but is very familiar with Youkai and dealing with them without fighting, so the two go together like PB&J to do things a solo actor couldn't

One of their flips backfiring, 'you can't comprehend my unexplainable phenomena', or the tree becoming unstable are all good ways to do it.
In my head, what happens when they encounter Yuugi or Yuuka is "Oh shit. We don't have the firepower to deal with that!" and them desperately searching for a solution like tricking her into fighting someone else, getting her caught in someone else's crossfire, trying to exploit
a weak point, phoning a friend, or attempting to teleport them far away, which, given Gensokyo is rather small, would only buy time.

So in total, the weakness's will be something along the lines of: It's sensitive to the state of the HSE, the farther away they get from the building, the weaker the ability, if you disrupt one or the other they can't use it effectively, someone like Suwako(curse goddess) or Mima can probably pick up on the mechanics of what they're doing and disrupt it somehow, being able to pipe things out of existence doesn't necessarily help if the thing has a 'will', since that will buoyant it back to reality.
