But I got bored and considered dropping it on few occasions. Like I mentioned there's some good parts as well that I enjoyed and would say the game is slightly above average, but I don't feel like the good points outweigh the bad ones.

I'm saying that once you figure out the general SoL > "romance" > extreme shit > open the box and someone loses a body part + someone relevant to them disappears story flow and time loop setting and virtual reality twist even before the latter's actual reveal, both of which have long since become overused and cliche plot elements in this medium due to how easily they are used to justify everything weird without having to bother to craft a proper mystery with cause and effect, a lot of the side heroine stories, which take the majority of the whole game start to lose their meaning and you only end up looking forward to the next fucked up part and for the game to finally start providing some sort of answers rather than faffing about in its general weirdness. Rather than invoking surprise it becomes predictable, and you don't really get time to get attached to any of the characters. Because you know nothing matters and all the weird stuff can be explained with lol virtual reality everything loses its shock value / impact and feels like filler.

What I personally would've preferred was some sort of gradual progression of the main plot and more interactions with Kabane in the middle parts (I genuinely enjoyed her sillier antics), rather than bringing up some obviously important keywords every now and then without actually elaborating further and then going back to pointing out that everything is quite surreal. Yes dear game, I noticed that in the beginning thank you very much, but I would like for you to now get on with the main plot. That, or the game in general would've benefited from being much shorter since the loop loses its appeal rather quickly. There may have been elements of a good plot and interesting characters there but I felt the general execution was sorely lacking.
