My dearest, a graceful purple orchid:
Sweet tones, a voice of pleasing amplitudes
Abundant beauty, which should not be hid
Your character, a quaint boldness exudes

You are but a one of many idols
Pleasing, one and all, but you are unique:
All attractive, reciting their idylls
But 'tis you alone my senses piqued!

Some are more tall, and yet others more short
Differences abound, but matter not
In thine loving presence I find resort
Hark! Sachiko! 'tis my heart you've caught!

Though a plane between us may divide:
Sachiko! Sachiko! You are my pride!
