holy shit. I've been wondering for a while what the fuck is happening with Chrome hitting my CPU pretty hard (relatively speaking since it's a 9900k) and causing it to heat up. I'd been using streamlink instead of chrome to avoid this because I thought it was just something chrome sucked at and now I realised it's the chat because of your post. Fucking hell.

my cores run between 5 and 9 percent. Temp is like 35 which is pretty close to idle.
>open the chat up.
The cores go crazy, most of them will push loads up over 10% while some go as high as 40%, temps go up towards 40 with some going as high as 48c when it spikes.
>hide the chat again
core load instantly drop back below to 5% to 10% max, temps back down, even uses less power
