They started incorporating the R3 models with MM2019. Miku is not nearly as cute, it's very saddening. Some of the choreography and AR camera angles with the new models look impressive but it's not a good trade-off. Thankfully they only use them for a minority of the songs.

I think it works a bit better with Rin and Len (Childish War was great), but still not as good as the Sega models.
