Just tried it 10 times in 2p with Marisa as a body hitting for ~700 but adding fire land. No failures, but Marisa always died, and the boss died on round 4 or 3 if there was a crit or proc. 1p was 6 of 10. If she didn't proc her extra attacks or crit she was dead because round 5+ seems to have a large chance of 1000 needles.

Small trials, so it isn't statistically sound, but that's way more than enough chance considering the fight lasts <1m and if you die you just close the game and you are right at the save point before with your party already set up. Makes it so you can have full parties for the other two which people seem have trouble on.
