Person who barely played PSO1 there.
Personally I don't think "fun" is a good way to describe the game to others.
Its very well thought-out, yet you can't see it just from images.
There is an awful lot of details:

Map is consisting of same modules, but seams are not very obvious. Random Codes happening on the map are integrated good, you don't really feel them as some crappy event trigger. Players move through your map, npcs come around, aviation and dispatcher girls are broadcasting, weather changes.

If someone on the channel took npc as a partner on the same map as you, you cant take him, because you will get to see him on the mission. If it will stay unoccupied, he might appear by itself as a part of event.

There are trapdoor turrets in the city that can be evoked by remote control. Its possible to stand on them, while they are shooting. Its possible to get hit by a blast door that rises during events. There are monsters you have to stand on to hit their weak spot - small monsters might occasionally get on them too.

In the lobby, broadcasting message follows the approach of alien fleet and picture on displays changes according to the situation.

You can combo attacks, so your performance will be better, but you don't suffer too much from not timing the attacks.

There is always something new happening in every next location.

Classes are not different only because of weapons they can use. There is plenty of UI space in the class window, so I expect more classes in release, but honestly I can't image what else its possible to bring in there.

No matter how severe cash shop is going to be, I'm not going to feel bad about using it, because you are actually playing the game. Usually mmos are very weak on gameplay part, and I don't only mean a controlling scheme.
